back from the dead
Jul. 5th, 2004 10:16 pmOK, I grudgingly admit that was the lowest-stress mother-in-law visit we've had in a long time. The highlights:
Things missed (poo):
Yeah, I know those of you who get out less than I do aren't exactly bleeding from both ventricles, but hey, it's my journal and I'll bitch if I want to. We now return me to my regularly scheduled... whatever it is that I do.
- Finally made it to the new central library. Dayumn. How many times have you gone to a library and thought, 'What a cool building'? They thought of everything, even rubberized paint on the handrails. The cushions in the kids' area look like giant blue pills. My mother-in-law found herself in the 1962 Tacoma phone book.
- Fireworks at Myrtle Edwards si; traffic no. I should have gone south, not north.
- I'm about to utter heresy here: Spider-Man 2 isn't worth $8.50, or even $5. Sure, the cast does a good job, but the script & direction never let me forget I'm watching a movie based on a comic book that was intended for kids. I felt like I'd seen it too many times before.
Things missed (poo):
- Arid Sea
- Pioneer Square art walk -- yes, again
- picnic with PiBs
