contrary to expectations

Expected: to find a tired alexiarnps and beau when I picked up something I'd left behind days ago.
Got: pah-tay still going! Happiness.

Expected: a friend of mine to have had a Norman Rockwell childhood because she always seems so positive.
Got: some stories that curled my hair. I have to admire her for how well she handled it.

Expected: to finally meet Kim Dietemann.
Got: a short, crowded night at Re-bar complete with goofiness and trans-privilege, but nobody to talk to. Poo.
