Nibbal health postscript
Feb. 16th, 2006 03:52 pmIt occurred to me, and I've verified this with Nibs, that we will be kicking her B cells' asses after all as soon as the FDA approves the drug -- rituximab -- for arthritis, because the latest dope she's taking only works on her nervous system and does nothing to fight her still-dangerous inflamation. The approval should come at the end of this month, but it could take several more weeks for us to get our hot little hands on a syringe of it. The good news, at least, is that she's not as worried as she used to be about getting cancer from this stuff. It's been used for non-Hodgkins lymphoma in over half a million patients.
The Wendling woke us up at 5:30 this morning, ostensibly to get him some water. He's perfectly capable of getting it himself. I fear that he's inherited the mouth-running gene that Nibsdad and both his children have. I hope the geneticists have located it and named it STFU.
