nun puts things together, mostly for boy
Dec. 20th, 2006 02:59 pmMy boy now has a left-handed foosball table. What makes it left-handed? Consider the usual direction of foosball dude rotation w.r.t. the player operating them. I swapped all the knobs around to the other side of the table. You may be thinking that a foosball table is pretty lowbrow and cheez-wizzy for an uptight nun like me, and if so you're right. If I didn't have an Aspie who needs to be encouraged to use his hands I wouldn't have considered it.
Speaking of using his hands, he's developed a passion for Lego about a year and a half later in his life than I did. Way better late than never. I used to pooh-pooh as too preprogrammed all the Lego sets that were only meant for specific things -- his are Star Wars, of course -- but I've realized that following the instructions on those can be non-trivial and should make his little synapses multiply. He drafts me to fix his mistakes, but that's all I'll do. That's all I need to do. ETA: He just cancelled a request for Lego help. Arright.
I've put together my Burning Man packing list. It has ninety-two items. I'm skeered.
