After a quick yeau at Club V (You! In the black! Go!) to
cupcake_goth &
tolkiencub, I headed on down to the Little Red Studio for a party called Manifest. This was put on by Uniting Souls, Audiblebicycleday, and Decibel, all of whom got my stamp of approval long ago.
Tunes: righteous. Jacob London is a quart of coffee set to a beat. They made me dance the stays out of my corset. Almost as much stuff per second as Akufen, and more fun. Eddie Nonong (I didn't know his last name until last night) rocked the alley old school. Kid Hops, well, did what he loves to do with breakbeats.
Eye candy: Off the scale! Several of them even dressed up, which seldom happens at techno events. My only theory as to why is that there was a fashion show, but it wasn't just the models. I saw the blond graver from the Cobblestone Jazz show looking Orthodox Goth, only with a shorter skirt. Had I worn red & black, we would have been close to twins.
Space: LRS is pretty, with a big main dance floor and tall, red velvet-lined booths scattered about and lots of little nooks and crannies for other activities, including a loft. (The loft had no "NO FUCKING" sign this time. Too bad.) The alley is wide enough for another dance floor and vendors. We were all grateful to have someplace to breathe.
Jane: Unisex, with a long line. Forewarned is forearmed.
Nibs is sounding less angry, thank Bob, but we've still got plenty to work out, and we need to do so rationally. We can't afford a trip to Splitsville any time soon - 50% of our household income is paying for the Abbey. She & I differ on whether the Wendling is made of glass or not. I say he isn't. I'm having to usher her into talking to people other than me. Bizarre, especially when you know how much she lives on the phone.
Oh: the Seafair Marathon is going right past my house. Gee, maybe I'll be able to get out of it & go to Pride.
