First, the commercial: I'm pretty sure I've already posted about this, but if you're the slightest bit inclined toward any flavor of electronic music, check out the Decibel Festival. It's taking over several clubs and other venues, even a couple of parks, all weekend. I'll be at Chop Suey on Saturday night. Maybe someday I'll have a weekend pass.
And now, the controversy: I was told on one of the transgender communities here on LJ that my use of the word "tranny" isn't respectful. The first time I ever heard that word used to describe a person and not an automotive assembly was from a fellow transsexual, and I continue to hear or read it used that way by trans people. So:
