hormones vs. my perception of reality
Apr. 27th, 2010 10:09 pmI pledged to my sorority I Jabba Thi for the fifth time last night. That's hardly news, you say, and it isn't per se. This morning, however, I had the distinct sensation that my clothes didn't fit right and I'd suddenly and uncomfortably gained weight. Dare I say I felt... bloaty? I think I remember reading that estrogens can do this, but why would it take five shots? Would bloating really be that likely or that noticeable in somebody who's also popping a diuretic twice a day? This is a good one for those who've taken girly 'roids.
And on a related note, I'd been warned by two or three people that estrogens mess with your mind. I pooh-poohed that until recently. My fantasy life has taken a, well, not exactly butch turn. On Friday I had to ask myself, 'Why am I so mad at co-worker V? My problems with his feature are my fault.' It snuck up on me.
Oh: I did once hear second hand that estrogens can mess with the concentration you need to drive a 'pooter. I can say authoritatively that that's bullpucky.
