sistawendy: a butterfly in the style of a street sign (butterfly)
Everybody reading this knows I'm a trans lesbian, right? Good! Thank you for paying attention.

I spent a bit of time this National Coming Out Day friending old school chums on That Other Social Networking Site. I wonder if any of them noticed I never friended them under my old name. I never even had an account under that name.

One of them recently separated from her hubby and has an ex-husband who changed sex. I can beat that, but not by much.

I'm almost out of people I care about to come out to.

Much has been written about the true meaning of NCOD, but to me and maybe others living in greater-than-average-even-by-queer-standards danger, it boils down to this: We are not afraid. That means that whether they know it yet or not, the haters have lost their power over us.

And speaking of coming out, my trans tag goes public tomorrow night.
And on a sad note, I've learned that there will be no more Science Center parties. Too many idiot vandals & druggies.

It's nice to know that when I mistype "public" as "pubic", at least four of you (five if you count adults) are on it like white on rice, letting me know.
