Paging Dr. Kafka, Dr. Franz Kafka...
Oct. 11th, 2011 08:35 amI've been talking & emailing with my surgeon's office over the last few business days. They still don't have definite approval from MyCo's benefits people, and they've told me that if the don't get it by Nov. 7th that we'll have to reschedule, thereby hosing my mom, who has her plane ticket. They're worried that the benefits people won't even look at my shrink letters until my first year of Full Time ends on Dec. 10th. They advised me not to buy my plane ticket yet.
Hogwash, says Dr. Shrink. He says he's sent hundreds of people to surgery and he's never run into this problem. Lots of his clients are MyCo employees. I sure hope he's right.
Meanwhile, I'm filling out forms and arranging for tests as if all were proceeding as planned. I need to be ready. The packing list they sent isn't as long as my Burning Man spreadsheet, but it's impressive.
