sistawendy: me in my suffraget costume raising a finger in front of the Vogue (oh yeah)
I forgot to post about this earlier in the week. After Sunday's 6-hour zappy session, I was at least temporarily free of hair above the jawline for the first time in thirty years. I'd guess that at least half of that area has been permacleared - and yes, I'm aware of the implications of fractals on measuring area. Hush, you geeks. Virtually all of the brown hairs on my face and neck are dead, Jim; she went after them first at my direction. It isn't quite as earth-shaking as announcing that I won't need any more electrolysis ever, but it felt momentous to me after over 220 hours. I'll take my victories where I can find them.

After my face & neck will come the dessert: my chest and (ahem) nipples. I figure that if my mother and sisters don't have to shave or pluck there, I shouldn't have to either. I've promised myself that I'm not getting any tattoos until the zappy is finished, and I finally thought of a design I'd like.

The dinner date with Funny Lady that got cancelled on Thursday has been replaced with a lunch date sometime this weekend. A pleasant surprise! We haven't converged on the time & place, but with Funny Lady, that's business as usual. (The Siberian Siren shares my mania for nailing things down in advance, along with several other manias. Pity she's Just Not That Into Me.)

And speaking of dates and what it takes to get them, this morning [livejournal.com profile] leenerella sent the edited results of the photo shoot she did for me. She and her MUA did a fantastic job of making me look way better than I actually do. [livejournal.com profile] motherofangels, prepare to be freaked out at how much I look like you c. 1962. Yeah, she took a few years off me, which I appreciate greatly and which are necessary for anyone who's 45 going on 17 as I am. We shall soon see how much interest they generate. Preliminary responses have been encouraging. I'll post them as soon as I have them.

Customer: satisfied. And minus several blemishes, frown lines, crows' feet, and nasolabial folds.

They might be kind of big. )

I believe I now have a powerful new marketing tool for Project Girlfriend. All shall love me and despair! Or something.
