Apr. 24th, 2016 12:06 pmSlept a whole bunch Friday night & Saturday in an unsuccessful attempt to ditch the ick. Non-gross 'za & tasty beer at Cornuto with
ionan & J. Then getting ready for SEAF in a mad rush, delivering an unofficial copy of the divorce decree to Ex's hotel in Kirkland while dressed all sexy*, and picking up my son, who elected to meet me outside the store because aforementioned sexy. That was my last chance to scandalize Kirkland.
My date for the evening? The Tickler, of course. It was her first SEAF, and she lamented being overdressed. Perhaps I should have told her that wearing one of her burlesque costumes would have been perfectly appropriate, but it didn't occur to me. I thought she looked lovely.
My favorite piece of the show? "Venus Unbound" by Rose Adare. I loved the use of color - to which the online version doesn't do justice, sadly - and the evocation of a '40s pinup.
The piece that made me screech on the inside? "Goddess of Ballet Boots" by Retrotie (no static link available, but I did find it at a gallery in LA). Basically, it's fetish meets Hindu goddess meets ABBA album cover. No, really.
I have discovered the limits of Inga's battery life. I better keep her juiced up so I can figure out how to get my money's worth from her; I'm starting to worry about my hand.
*SFDs: black leather bra, knee-length netting skirt (because I broke the zipper on my leather pencil skirt), Fluevog Truth Melanie boots tied into place at the knee with velvet ribbon, MAC Studio Fix, lipstick, eye shadow, and black gel eyeliner. I got comments on my welded-nail necklace; gotta love that symbolism.
