surprise date
Mar. 17th, 2019 02:46 pmEarly yesterday evening the Tickler told me she was going to Emerald City Comicon's burlesque show, of course, and wanted to know about the possibility of late night eats at the Itto's on Capitol Hill. I hadn't made any plans that I was too enamored of and I'd wanted to try that place, so I said yes.
I knew something was odd when I found a tapas place at the right address with Itto's distinctive Moroccan-inspired decor, but a different name on the door. It turns out at least that Itto's has been sold. The cocktails weren't as good as we were used to in West Seattle, and the torta espaƱol was made in a small, unshareable size. I doubt we'll be back, and now we're worried about the original Itto's in West Seattle, which we both love.
The Tickler lives in Olympia now, and that's a long drive home to start at 2330 hours. She'd made plans to crash elsewhere that had fallen through because Murphy's Law. So I offered my lake place, natch. Cuddles ensued and all was hunky dory until she got a night terror - a mild one, she said, wherein she was convinced the bed was falling apart underneath her - shortly before sunrise. She went back to sleep. I didn't until after OK brunch at one of the gazillion places up on Phinney Ridge. Le sigh. I thought her CPAP was supposed to help with those, and I've never seen her neglect to use it. All in all, though, I'm glad she asked me out.
Current plan: walk around Green Lake in the sunshine. Eetz with J a long walk in the other direction. Maybe laundry. Spring has sprung a few days early here in Seattle, and failure to take advantage of that would be a lowdown shame.
