plague driving, not plague flying
Mar. 17th, 2020 09:45 amMy son usually spends Monday & Tuesday nights with me. I didn't want him taking mass transit and I had my car, so I drove most of the length of Seattle last night on I-5 to pick him up at Ex's. I left my place at 1715, the peak of rush hour.
I was able to drive at or near the speed limit the whole way. The only slight slowdown was underneath the convention center, where it's dark, curvy, and full of exits. The last time I've gone the speed limit on I-5 through downtown Seattle during a Monday evening rush was probably while Nirvana was still a band, if indeed I ever did that.
See my user pic? Its name is "weirded out". I think I'll be using it a lot in the near future.
The two big events that I wanted to go to in London have been cancelled. British Airways & AirBnB have already sent me emails on how to cancel. I'm taking the hint. We'll be lucky if it's OK to travel anywhere before the end of summer.
The report from Evil Sister about her trip to Mom's includes Mom's refusal to wear the right shoe size and to recognize a heart attack. It just occurred to me that she could die of something unrelated to COVID-19 as the pandemic rages.
