I finally returned the repeated calls from that online specialty pharmacy and told them, for the second time by my reckoning, that I don't need that prescription. I've had it filled at a drugstore like a normal person, as the company for which they contract instructed me to. So maybe the saga of the drugs is finally over. Bonkers.
