Date: 2006-04-06 04:15 pm (UTC)From:IME, just be there, be gentle, be supportive, but not pushy. When I get spells like that (from my chronic stuff), it's just a matter of getting by day to day, but anything that can help me forget about pain a little is a good thing. When people help me out with little things (without letting me know they are helping - when I'm depressed I hate feeling like a burden on others), it makes a big difference, mainly because the kindness of others still lifts my spirits even if it doesn't show.
Just be there for her when you can, but not in her face, you know? She'll know you're there and it *will* make a difference. If there's any little thing you know she likes, treat her to it (but not big things). I know that helps a lot too.
I hope she's feeling more herself soon!!!!
