...is watching season 1, episode 1 of Star Trek on Netflix with my son, starting after his bedtime. I'm not sure he'll want to watch any more and Nibs was scandalized, but I have no regrets. I was grinning all the way through. One should share the things one loves with one's children, as long as they're not R-rated.

(Season 1, ep 1 is not "The Menagerie" as originally planned, but "The Man Trap". The network types wanted a proper monster, says Nimoy.)

This morning the kid woke up at least 15 minutes before I did, as usual.

I used to get to stay up past my bedtime to watch Star Trek & Doctor Who on a fairly regular basis.

I love Star Trek, grew up on it. I would totally share it too!

That all said, what did the kid think? Did he like it?

She was scandalized about the timing. She's a little kooky about his bedtime, which is odd considering how much later he goes to sleep than he goes to bed.

He didn't act too impressed, and he's said it doesn't have enough action. However, he just asked tonight if we could watch another ep. Nyeh heh heh heh heh!
