I made it, belatedly, to the book signing for

cupcake_goth's Gothic Charm School, based in part on her web site of the same name. I'm tremendously impressed and not a little bit jealous, and you know what? She deserves every bit of recognition and every nickel of the royalties; I think I have more reason to say that than most. For years she's been promoting - if she'll forgive the raver crossover - PLUR*, only black-clad, spooky, and with a healthy dose of snark. I'm down with that.

The signing itself was a sea of black, including me, which reminded many of us of the best crazy nights at the Merc or Vogue, only everybody could see and hear each other. We need to do that more often. It's time for my copy of the book to get here in the mail, dammit.

And on a somewhat distressing note, m'boy has been so freaked out about the possibility of not being able to sleep that he hasn't slept well for the last couple of days. That would be funny to me if it weren't happening to my son.
