Boy is at camp, apparently adjusting well. (Ah, the age of the web.) Nibs is recovering from the Bomb. I can't remember the last time I was this relaxed. Nibs & I are suddenly being a lot nicer to each other. Nun plan for tonight: sew, read, sleep.
Nun plan for tomorrow night: Merc, followed by TRUST @ Sole Repair. Mm, Riz.
I just harvested about half the apples from one of my trees, and I just ate one whose texture suggested... over-ripeness. On August 7th. Another consequence of last week's record heat? Maybe, but that doesn't detract from the perfection that is apples fresh off the tree. I'm no foodie, but holy cow, can I taste the difference. And to think that as a child in Florida I didn't understand why my father was so crazy about them. He'd probably eaten them the way I just did.

Date: 2009-08-08 09:43 pm (UTC)From:I had a similar experience with tomatoes, when I was younger. A sun-ripened, still-warm tomato fresh from the vine is so good--and I will need to figure out some means to have a growhouse-like area, or at least find a spot where there's lots of sunlight, when I move, so I can start growing them. I already have a basil that's gone nuts, and some oregano that's doing well.
I'm glad to hear all is relaxed at home. :)
Just found out that the Center has a metal-themed poly party every other month--including tonight. So I *must* go there. I insist. :)
I'm moving out of Seattle proper and in with my primary girlfriend, who is currently North of Kirkland, just South of Snohomish County. Yeah, that far up. :P I don't know how long this will last but I hope to be there for a year at least. I don't like moving, really.
