what I'm not doing tonight

I had another OKCupid date that was scheduled for tonight cancel on me a couple of days ago because she realized she "doesn't want a romantic relationship with a woman". Uh. Couldn't you have figured that out before you made the date? Or did you not figure it out until after I read my profile?

I have no idea what I'm doing tonight.

I know I'm biased, but I'm a big fan of my technique - ask everyone who sends me a message to include a keyword indicating they read my profile. It was inspired by a first date that was going okay until I said blah blah blah my partner and he was like YOU'RE DATING SOMEONE?! Uhh, yeah, like it says all over my profile?!

Yes, I do that when I write responses anyway, and I look for some indication that they've read mine.

I know that feeling from some sites I'm on. I am not looking for dates, but all my profiles do say, in the headline, beginning of description, "online banner", whatever, that I'm HAPPILY PARTNERED and not looking to change that. It also says to READ MY PROFILE before messaging.

Of course despite that, I get messages like, "Are you partnered?" or "Where do you live?" or "How old are you?" or "Wanna cam?" which make it abundantly clear that they did NOT read any portion of my profile.

I usually respond with "What part of my profile did you not understand? If I need to clarify the language, please let me know! Thanks." or something like that...

Anyways, good luck with future dating! We're rooting for you!
