sistawendy: me in a tie die dress with a flirty look on my face (flirty hippy)
Of course I went to Norwescon, and crashed in the penthouse suite(!) rented by Elder Goth and her hubby. They were even kind enough to supply me with an air mattress and bathrobes for sleeping, and had tons of food. We were expecting more people to crash there, but I was the only one.

Dinner with [livejournal.com profile] rigel_p and friends. Dayumn, she's popular, but it was good to catch up in person.

Went to [livejournal.com profile] gfish's panel on how he made the base for the Hugo award sculptures. Oddly enough, I wasn't quite clear on that until then. I have to hand it to him for the amount of work he put into figuring out how to do it; it was not obvious or trivial, even to him. He's also built and impressive network of business connections with fabricators.

Tried to go to one of [livejournal.com profile] rigel_p's panels, but by the time I got there it was overflowing. I did make it to another one later, and it was chock full of close-up asteroid & comet pictures and mighty informative. Those panels tend to be full of older men who don't know how not to interrupt. I had to fight the urge to box them about the ears. And that's nothing compared to the bad behavior in the panels Elder Goth & [livejournal.com profile] sirriamnis do; it really put EG out of sorts, and she gets paid to deal with stuff like that.

When I missed [livejournal.com profile] rigel_p's first panel, I followed [livejournal.com profile] vixy into [livejournal.com profile] tereshkova2001's panel. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know, but it was kind of hilarious to hear which one on the panel was the teacher: the one with the penetrating voice.

Went to a reading by Luna Lindsey. She was already good - especially her short stories - and she's gotten better. I might just have to buy more of what she's written.

Ahem by the numbers:
Utterly gorgeous younger women chatted up: Gosh, half a dozen or so? I lost count.
Facebook friends added: 1.
Appreciative ladies scratched hard on the back: 1.
Number of women who told me I made them question their own heterosexuality: 1. I win.
Con farr engaged in: 0. I'm not too broken up about that, though, because my roommates had a tendency to conk out behind a locked door by 0100. I didn't want to be a jerk and drag them out of bed to let my skanky ass in.

This con was, sadly, at least as notable for what I missed as what I made it to. I didn't find out where the Merchants of Deva party was until the next morning, or that [livejournal.com profile] maida_mac was the main organizatrix of it. Much Younger Woman was there, but had a bad brain weekend, so I didn't see her. I didn't get to see [livejournal.com profile] grace_batmonkey either, and she'd come all the way from Texas with her little girl. [livejournal.com profile] sirriamnis says I should have been at a certain pair of late-night panels notable for pretty young things; we saluted each other as dirty old women.

SFDs:
Friday night: Jestress.
Saturday, daytime: Naughty Nurse from 1913.
Saturday night: Lizzy minus the hatchet.
I wore my Fluevog Half-Truths, which were esthetically just right for all of the above outfits, but they didn't play nice with an injured toe. Le sigh.

[It took me 20 minutes to write this. Le sigh.]

Man, that sounds like a fantastic time.
