Evil Sister & I have the papers from the lawyer whom Good Sister has retained, but contrary to what ES & I expected, there's nothing for us to sign. Our names are on those documents, natch, as potential backup guardians. Also, Mom is acting like everything's normal; ES suspects that her envelope is sitting unopened in a pile of junk from Publisher's Clearing House. The court-appointed lawyer hasn't seen Mom yet, but is supposed to Any Day Now®. I hope they get paid enough to handle Mom's likely addled freakout.
