The broadband saga continues.

According to the Verizon Dude who was here when I got home, Earthlink sent me not one but two DSL modems that won't work with their lines. (The second one showed up on our doorstep this morning, presumably after a detour through Nebraska.) Each of the three modems we have is from a different manufacturer, but the VD said that the modem he successfully tested our line with is just like our late lamented one, a Fujitsu Speedport. Wisps of steam escaped Her Nibs' ears; I just laughed. Earthlink probably canned all the people who knew which modem to send me along with the ones who could find their butt with both hands. Her Nibs has given them the boot.

Oh yeah: per a New Year's resolution I've finished another corset for myself. I'll be wearing it out & about on Saturday.

I checked with them, and they said they can't do me. They said Earthlink (and therefore, of course, Verizon) must have access to equipment Speakeasy doesn't. :
