Here in the quarantine era when we're all living online, long video calls count as news. I Skyped the Siberian Siren last night. It was a great surprise to me to see her in a tiger onesie. Remember, the SS back in the day was one of the most skillful & glamorous high femmes I've ever met. Come to think of it, though, that onesie went well with her red hair.
She was busy unpacking after a move. She's got one partner living with her, but she had to leave the other one in Mill Creek. She's had to shut down her real estate business. I'm not entirely clear on the details of it, but I do know that she poured everything into it. Damn. She's a tough lady who's been through a lot - immigrating to North America at the age of ten, being a lesbian daughter of Russian parents - but what she did was so much of who she was. I'm glad she's got her family in the area helping her and somebody living with her.
What am I doing when I'm not working? Reading a library book, riding my bike in the morning, plotting world domination - the usual, really.
Speaking of riding my bike in the morning, Seattle parks have closed their parking lots. It's legal to go to them, provided you maintain proper social distance of 6' (2m) from anyone else. Early on weekday mornings that's easy, but it might not be on the weekends, which will drive me onto the streets. Gosh, I sure hope I don't run into a door or get run over because the hospitals are full of COVID-19 patients.
