sistawendy: me at a house party cradling a taco like a baby (taco madonna)

FedEx belatedly delivered the third manufactured prototype of my sex toy, which I've dubbed Griselda because she's gray. Gray? Gris? Griselda? Never mind. She's gray because I used a slightly cheaper 3-D printing process.

Anyway, the salient differences between Griselda and Blanca II are:
  1. The two bends have been smoothed out, mainly for the esthetic reasons that the Tickler pointed out.
  2. The cross section of Griselda's handle is roughly a semicircle, as opposed to Blanca's rectangle. The diameter of the semicircle is the same as the long, i.e. downward-facing, side of the rectangle. The objective of this change is to improve the ergonomics: I got a couple of sore knuckles from using Blanca, and preventing hand injuries was the overriding purpose behind making my own sex toy in the first place.
So how does Griselda work? Marvy, just from the perspective of getting yours truly off. But have I solved the ergonomic problem? Well, that's going to take a few days to find out, at least. If my knuckles heal up, it's all good.

My only real complaint about Griselda is that she has artifacts – essentially 3-D jaggies – from the STL file export from Blender. I took [personal profile] gfish's advice and converted Griselda's design into a fine mesh, and then exported that to a (much larger) STL file. If Griselda fixes the ergonomic issues I'll be ready to order my fourth and hopefully final prototype that I hope will get rid of the artifacts. Then comes production in polyurethane.
