affixing blame to the right small animal

So a few days ago Her Nibs and I smell, near the back door where the pet door is, urine. Suspicion naturally falls on our aging Puppigrrl, but we don't catch her in the act. In fact, we can't even see the evidence.

Fast forward to today, when Her Nibs discovers that during nap time the Wendling has been peeing through the doggy door onto the deck, most likely because he doesn't like the sound of the downstairs toilet flushing.

I remember being about 3 and peeing under the rub in my room because I was scared to go to the bathroom in the dark. My mother says I never did this because she would have noticed, but I have distinct memories of doing it twice.
