emotionally fraught footwear

After many months of anticipation, I got myself an early present. My boy helped me lace them, and I've tried them on. Poifect for clubbing, mowing the lawn, or the office. Happy-making. Her Nibs tells me, though, that they look an awful lot like what white supremacists wear. I know that some of you reading this either have these exact boots or very similar ones. Darn. Now we all have to move to the Idaho panhandle.

Ah so. Will do. I'd never heard anything like that. It's a little disturbing to hear that Her Nibs really did have cause for concern. I wonder which color is the Wrong One.

White and red are two of the problem colors. Dunno off the top of my head what they stand for, though.

But black grinders with black laces - that's an urban wardrobe staple. Especially in our scene(s). :) Luke got married in his.

You won't find many white supremacists that wear boots that big. Surprisingly hard to run from the cops in them. Also not stompy-looking enough when worn under jeans, and (likely) not steel-toed. (Things I Don't Need To, Nor Should, Know # 142)

And yes, white/red laces in boots are generally bad things. Plus, basic black! Slimming!
