sistawendy: me in my Suffragette costume going "Eek!" (eek)
Mom told me during our weekly phone call about a month ago that she'd suffered some numbness in her extremities. Sure enough, today she says she's had a small heart attack and will get (balloon?) catheterized tomorrow.

The excitement never stops around here lately. This kind of excitement, though, I could do without. I... can't even think about the worst case scenario. Dammit, she has to be at my big gay wedding or I'll be very upset. And her grandson's high school graduation. And his college graduation. And...

I posted my Pride plans nearly a month ago, and naturally they've changed a bit since then. But first, a disclaimer: I know from last year that any plans I try to make are likely to be interrupted by randomly running into friends on the Hill (assisted by SMS and email) and adopting their plans, i.e. going with the flow. My plans as they currently stand:

Friday, June 28th:
  • The Trans Pride March starting at 6:00 at Cal Anderson park.
  • LICK! at Chop Suey. This is not a definite thing, but I've heard good things about it and I know at least one of the Lambert ladies will be there.
  • Riz Rollins and Mark Farina at Neumo's. This is a definite thing, because I have a will-call ticket. Doors at 9:00, baybee. Riz is a local celebrity who needs no introduction. I'm pretty sure Mark Farina is straight, but he's one of my very few favorite DJs on the planet. If you have even the slightest interest in house music, or if you want to come to a big gay pah-tay, show your butt up.

Saturday, June 29th:
  • The Seattle Dyke March. The Lambert Ladies will all be there, and half the fun is the spectators: nekkid wimmins on rooftops, dominatrices throwing candy from balconies, etc.
  • There will be a Hot Flash Inferno night at Neighbours, which is early because it's geared toward older women. It may be a good place for me to find J&J.
  • The Siberian Siren has asked me to come to Re-bar, where her sweetie L will be working. It's on the wrong side of I-5, but how can I resist?
  • Capitol Hill blows up, basically. Wacky hijinks will ensue.

Sunday, June 30th: The parade, duh. The head of the parade starts at 4th & Union. I'll be marching with Lambert House, but of course I'll be there to wave at and/or hug every queer, kinkster, or Goth I know and then some.
