There was an early flurry - as in snow - here in Seattle today.

I just put in a request to reserve an AirBnB in Sydney for Mardi Gras.

You could reasonably guess that these two events are related, but they're not. I'd had Sydney on my bucket list for some time. I hope I get the place I requested. It's near a train station in a neighborhood called Newtown, which according to my Ozzie Burner chum is where you go to find lez beans.

Yes, I'm going to Sydney by myself. No, aside from the parade (which I should buy a seat for viewing, says my Burner friend) and the usual touristy bits like the Harbor Bridge & Opera House, I really have no I idea what I'll do for a week besides fight monster jet lag and avoid sunburn in the subtropical late southern hemisphere summer. Being a gathering of queers in Australia, I'm pretty sure alcohol will be involved.

I'm told that Ozzie gay boys are all about American accents. If I find that this generalizes to queer wimmins, I'll be sure to let you all know. After I take advantage of the fact, of course.
