A slightly less mysterious neighbor?

Remember the single-family house next door to me that doesn't look occupied? I was walking by a couple of days ago and sure enough, as that house's other neighbor had told me happens, someone had put the bins out.

Reader, I peeked into the trash bin. It was half full of what looked like kitchen trash in the same kind of white bags that I use. So either someone is going to an awful lot of trouble to fool me into thinking the place is occupied, or it really is occupied, at least some of the time, if not by very many people.

Whoever's there, someone seems to have made sure that the bins got taken in promptly.

These are the times that test the soul.

Sensibly enough, I need a COVID-19 test within three days of my departure for London in a week. There happens to be a pop-up testing facility on my usual bike ride route in Woodland Park. I rode up, and luckily found a couple of people setting up. I asked them what their turnaround time was.
"When are you traveling?" one of them asked. I guess they get my question a lot, and know what it means.

I told them. They were a little dismayed. They said that Monday would likely be too late, and they're not open weekends anymore. They recommended that I find a place that's open Saturday, but that doesn't meet the three-day requirement.

Hat tip to trystbat for suggesting at-home tests a couple of weeks ago. I'll crack one open on Sunday evening whether or not I can find a testing place that's open on weekends. I have more that I'll be taking with me.

I swear to Goddess, if I actually get into the UK, it'll be tempting to stay just to avoid the hassle of coming home.
