Unbeknownst to them, Nibs & randomdreams ganged up on me and made me stay up way too late several nights in a row to read The Yiddish Policemen's Union my Michael Chabon. I agree with them that The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay was more entertaining, but the newer book still kicks ass on several levels, maybe more than its predecessor.

ETA: Oh yeah: made black taffeta bustle with handmade ruffle for my biker jacket. prncsmoonbeam had the brilliant idea of making it detachable so the biker jacket can remain dual-use technology; without that idea I wouldn't have bothered. I took pictures in my bathroom mirror, but predictably, they suck. You'll just have to see it in person.
