Over the last few months I've had the experience of learning that things -- major things -- and people were not as I thought they were for several years. This is mostly good news for me (unlike the poor king), but I still have to remind myself of the new information to avoid habits of thought and action. Apart from blinding himself you never find out what happens to Oedipus after his discovery if I remember correctly. Well, since I can still see, you get to read the sequel right here on LJ.

You might be wondering what in the hell I'm talking about. The first revelation, which I've mentioned, is that Her Nibs has at least one bona fide chronic illness and is responding well to medication. The second is that our autism guy says the Wendling will probably end up outgrowing (!) his autism diagnosis. I had suspicions all along that he might, but it's still something new.

I wish Her Nibs didn't get sick at all, but I am glad she is responding to the medication. As for the Wendling, what wonderful news! Too bad he didn't outgrow it in time for potty-training, hmm? Do the doctors have any timeline in mind?

Within the next two years, give or take.

Wow. That's a major revelation. That's probably the best news I've heard in four months, in fact. I hope he's right.
