sistawendy: a cartoon of me in club clothes (dolly)
Saw [livejournal.com profile] vorona. Maybe she heard me a little, but she didn't see me. She'd had a bad morning and had just taken some pain meds. I've never seen anyone look that ill. On the walls were photos that I'd never seen of her all gothed up; I knew she was pretty, but not that pretty. I made the mistake of bringing my son (see destination below). He was no trouble, waiting quietly and patiently in the hall, but it wasn't fair to him for me to wait a long time for her to wake up. Besides, she had people coming who were going to demand all of her attention.

Went to Artopia in Georgetown and saw power tool races with m'boy, who pronounced them awesome after a couple of them jumped ramps. He got introduced to Burners and their motto "Safety Third" when he got bonked in the head by an interactive art exhibit. You couldn't tell from the whining, but he's fine. He's old enough to ride in the front seat as of a few days ago, which was a treat for him. I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] leenerella failed to recognize me while I waved to her en butch. I love it when that happens.

Everyone's going to the Merc, but I hunger for raver flavor at the Church of Bass. HSF!

Ha! Apparently a LOT of people saw me today, but I looked around and saw "SEA OF PEOPLE" and in that group there are always so many out-of-context people that startle me when I can actually focus on faces. Plus I was seriously trying to keep up with my signboard duties.

That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!
Glad you two got to come down and see the action!

No worries. You appeared to be looking right at me with a "Who the hell are you?" expression.

I'm hoping to someday get my boy to join in the action, or start some of his own.

I'm glad you got to see her. Sorry I missed your call earlier, I am having some troubles with my phone.

Church of Bass? Would that be the Transcendent Church of Bass? While I like the Merc enough, I really like the raver scene, ie, high energy grooving.

I'd tried to look up more info on it, and, well, failed.

Would you mind linking me to more info about the music, venue, etc? I've found the site with a map, but that doesn't help much.

Thanks!

It would. Their (somewhat sparse) web site is churchofbass.org (http://churchofbass.org/). I haven't made it to a Wednesday night there yet, but I'd like to.

Good to hear you had a good time at the power tool races. I'd only heard of them for the first time about a week ago. I'll have to go another year...

I've thought about visiting , but..well, I feel like I don't know her well enough to visit at this point. I've only ever talked to her via LJ..
