One word: arty. It's loosely plotted, but there is a plot there if you pay close enough attention. There's very little dialogue, which Her Nibs found even more annoying than I did. The gags were bitterly funny, but not as frequent as I'd hoped. Yeah, you'd expect a flick about the intifada to be pro-Palestinian, but there was one fantasy sequence that led me to believe that writer/director/star Elia Suleiman expects the Palestinians to get the whole ball of wax (i.e., Israel proper). If he does, he's not as smart as most of his reviewers think he is.
