Good: Ms. Zappy tells me that electrolysis costs are tax deductible as medical expenses! Considering how much electrolysis for MtFs typically costs, this is very good news.

Bad: Nibs' workouts, etc. eat most if not all of the Abbey's 7%-of-adjusted-gross limit for medical deductions, she says.

On a related note, Ms. Zappy was positively gleeful at the progress she was able to make yesterday. She chalked it up mainly to the amount of regrowth on my face, because it's easier to remove than virgin hairs. I would think, though, that that's been true for a few months now. Hormones? Maybe.

Question for those of you who've grown breasts: How did your volume progress as a function of time? Linear? Cosine? Inverse tangent? What?

My growth was altered by my high activity level. Very low body fat levels make the womanly bits not do their thing...

Anyway, *for me*, growth was slow but steady. Up to a B-cup, where I stayed for... until I got pregnant, actually.

This, but in one-cup-size increments.

I thought the 7% of adjusted gross was a minimum, not a limit... But then, I keep screwing up my taxes, so I may not be the guy to ask.

Yeah, that's the threshold you have to reach before you can deduct anything above that. Under that, you can't deduct.

(I think the percentage has changed this year, actually. Lowered to... 5%? I'd have to check. But yeah, get above that percentage, then you can deduct what's above that.)

Also, Ms. Zappy is wrong about deductibility of electrolysis. It's specifically excluded, along with several other items. (Breast reconstruction: deductible, once you break the minimum percentages of income. Breast enhancement: not deductible. For example.)

I swear, the first three times I read this comment, I thought it was about breasts.

7% of adjusted gross breasts? Why, that's about what I have now.

Fun fact: Everything I say has something to do with sex. Including this. ;)

Well, I don't even remember mine growing... one day they were just THERE.

Exponential. Within months I went from nothing to A-cup to B-cup, and a few months after that I was a DD.
Growth slowed down after that but now I'm 35 and they're still growing.

I went from barely an A to a C in one year, but girls in my family tend to blossom overnight. It really varies from person to person. Would it help to look at the development cycles of the women you are related to?

I've heard that the women in your immediate family are the best guide, but it isn't exactly easy to talk with them about this yet.

Date: 2010-03-02 06:29 am (UTC)From: [identity profile] spaceling.livejournal.com
I can understand that. Do you anticipate receiving any support from them with regard to your decision?

Well, Mom's been fantastic, but one sister has tried to cure me and the other has been weirdly silent on the subject. I'm lucky I haven't faced any outright hostility from my family, though. A lot of my transsexual friends have.
