Some of you may recall that I'm taking (speaking) voice lessons with
kathrynt. What none of you know is how much I love going up there and just chatting for an hour or two about gender stuff or whatever in my voice of choice, without background noise. A lot of that is because of who I'm chatting with.
I almost like it too much: immediately after today's session I went to get my son at synagogue, eat lunch there, and then take him home. It wasn't until I got most of the way home that I noticed I wasn't talking to him in my usual baritone.
I'm not sure how I sounded during the intervening time. Did I switch back and forth? Luckily (?) there was no comment from the kid.
