I just spent forty minutes on the phone with motherofangels. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned here that I'm going to Florida in the spring to see her and any sisters and brothers-in-law who want to see me. motherofangels read in She's Not There about the coming out party that Jenny Boylan's mother threw for her, so my mom has decided to do the same.

I... I can't quite belive it. Wonderful. Even more foolish grinning. That's above and beyond the call of even maternal duty, folks.

I told her that, naturally, Strawberry Blond Sister is invited. Brunette Sister has already agreed to come down from D.C. for the more general festivities.

How many people in their early forties can claim that their mom just made their day?
