I just watched Micmacs. Yes, it's a cute, zippy movie, not as gentle as Amelie but not as squicky as La Cite des Énfants Perdus.
Of course it has that inimitable Jeunet look. Everything's in the tweaked, faded, primary-ish colors of a photo from the 1960s. There's trash and worn-out stuff and broken stuff are everywhere in the movie, and Jeunet's love for it shines through as it has since Delicatessen.
