Dear Bob, it's been more than five days since I posted. Work ate me for much of last week, and I spent most of Saturday preparing for my birthday party.
And how did that party go, you ask? Most satisfactorily: the evidence was written in the thin layer of sometimes smushed cheese crumbs all over my apartment afterward. The Lake Place finally lived up to its potential as a party pad. So many people gave me wine and other beverages that my fridge is still full of alcohol, olives, and cheese. (Yeah, I went a little crazy at PCC.) I need to throw another party, or help somebody else throw one.
Cutest dress: L the cute redhead from Lambert House showed up in her peacock-blue '50s dress and black-and-white stripey socks. Yup, cuter than my '50s dress.
Most unusual alcoholic beverage: Lillet, brought by

I noticed how the Lambert House lesbians and the Burners separated into groups. A pity. I have to admit that I instigated part of that when I dug out my Stockroom catalog, the same one that my son found while looking for his iTouch. No, it wasn't the lesbians who looked at the catalog. It was the Burners, If You Know What I Mean.
Spent yesterday afternoon shopping for a corset at Diva Dollz with the Siberian Siren. The SS was disappointed that they only do custom; she was clearly in the mood to take something home right then, to my amusement. She took me out for caffeine & dessert, and gave me makeup things - eye shadow, another much-needed brush, a magnetic box from MAC - and a really sweet card. Having been to the MAC store with her recently, I have a pretty good idea how much it all cost, i.e. eek. As if it weren't enough that she's the most attractive lesbian I know and possibly the most charming. I have just under a month to get her birthday present. Fortunately, I have an idea.
Dinner & dog walking with m'boy: steak. Nibs got me lemon meringue pie for my birthday. Aw.
Finally, drinks with A, her boyfriend, and gal pals, whose birthday was very nearly eleven years after mine. I'm glad I did that, because I hadn't seen A or her friends in ages. Quinn's has delicious yuppie pub grub, but since A & co. all work in restaurants & bars, they weren't impressed with the value or service. I didn't get to bed until 2:00 last night.
