The Wendling and I were out in the PCC parking lot last night looking up at the moon and what turned out to be Mercury next to each other, and he asked me why they're so close. So, I got to draw him a picture of the inner solar system and explain things. He also asked about the phases of the moon, so I drew another picture. He might even have understood it. I need to show him where the planets are now. He'll dig it. He's already asked me to show him the recent Hubble pictures. Go Wendling!

Isn't it just the coolest thing to see a kid's head engage in something like that? Have fun...lots of exploring to do now!
