I just had an abbreviated version of the weekly phone call with Mom. The court-appointed lawyer contacted her on Friday, and they'll be getting together Tuesday to prepare for the trial this coming Friday. Mom denies everything in the petition, calling it "full of lies". She went into detail about one of the more egregious cases of her (Nearly? I'm not sure.) falling for a scam, but even that denial appears to be only partial: she sent them money, but maybe not as much as we feared.
She still gets to explain why she thinks an executive at Publisher's Clearing House is her personal friend, and lots of other evidence of lost marbles. As I told her, "See you in court." Metaphorically, of course: Lydia may fly there, but I'm not a party to the lawsuit, so I'm spared this time.
Mom said sarcastically, "Let me tell you how much I appreciate you," and said goodbye.
I notified Good Sister of the above, natch.
