Settlement?

Good Sister emailed the other two of us to inform us of a settlement offer from Mom's lawyer: they'd set up a trust that gives GS control of Mom's finances. That trust would be revocable if Mom can convince a lawyer that she's compos mentis, but still, it's basically our main goal if not legally ironclad the way guardianship is. Evil Sister and I answered quickly and with one voice: doo eet. So maybe, just maybe, GS doesn't have to fly down there, and she can accurately take stock of the financial mess that Mom has made.

Mom's been seeing some dude B whom ES knows. ES says, and Mom's stories confirm, that he's a huge asshole. Personally, I'm not worried that B is trying to glom onto Mom's money. First, I'm not sure she has any anymore, thanks to that damn reverse mortgage. Second, Mom drives everyone away from her eventually, and the speed with which she does so has increased with time. Third, if I remember right, B doesn't even need her money.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, my poll results were unusually decisive. The blue dress it is for Pride Friday. Now do I have a petticoat that works with it? Hmm!

That sounds like fantastic news, whether she's seen sense, or if the lawyer has convinced her she's got no chance. What happens if she does convince a lawyer? The process starts over?

Yay settlement. Hopefully that'll keep things from getting any more acrimonious.
