Got to the Fremont parade with plenty of stuff to eat, got decent parking, in the shade at the start of the parade route, and the parade started bang on time. In other words, everything was perfect including the weather, until the Wendling started telling me fifteen minutes after the parade started that he wanted to leave. Murphy's Law. Poop. I wonder whether it was the heat or the noise that got to him. (I couldn't get him to drink the fizzy water I'd brought. That's yet another autistic sensory hypersensitivity that I thought he was over.) Sorry I missed everybody there, but I honored his request to scram. He did act pretty tired on the way home.

We spent the after noon at our CSA, Moonshadow Farm. The long and involved drive there into the Cascade foothills is absolutely gorgeous. The Wendling went wild chasing goats and fowl and moving the hen teasers. We made a scarecrow and had our choice of location. Naturally, I chose the garlic.

Spent evening doing three things that I love to do and needed to do: 1) wishing Happy Birthday to a certain redhead who gets me into delicious trouble; 2) hangin' wit da MOO kroo; and 3) wearing latex. It had been too long. In case any of you are wondering, my feet are in surprisingly good shape. I nominate [livejournal.com profile] gement for Cutest Pirate.

Today's plan:
go back to Fremont & check out booths & art cars
lunch @ Rikki Rikki with Nibsdad
shop 'til I drop for Fathers' Day present(s?)
dinner (?) with Nibscousin from L.A.

Heh. I joined Moonshadow's CSA last year. Small world! :) I just *loved* going to their farm. I would have continued this year, but just couldn't afford it.

We didn't buy a whole share either. We split one with one of Her Nibs' innumerable cousins.

Well, if it helps at all, everything after the nude bikers was just okay, and the big acts that were good, like the belly dancers and the bands were pretty much the same that are there every year. Really though, this is the worst year of the parade that I've seen in a loooooong time. I was very unimpressed for the most part. Energy wise it was fun, but the floats were few, small, and more often than not pretty lame. You didn't miss a good year, so take heart. :)

Uh, yay? Maybe the gentrification of Fremont is finally doing the parade in. I would have expected anti-Bushies to put on a good show. I missed the art cars.

Oh dear, what kind of trouble did I get you into this time?

No new trouble this time. (Aw.) Maybe later.
