One thing that I wasn't expecting at the Washington State Mr./Ms. Leather contest on Saturday night was to hear the national anthem sung a capella before the festivities started. The older fellow right in front of me threw the most precise salute and held it for the duration of the song. At some point I tapped him on the shoulder and asked, "Are you a veteran?"
"Yes."
"That salute!"
"Marine corps."
Well. Let it not be said that our boys in leather don't love their country. The veteran above? His date was another fella in leather, natch.
