Bar mitzva: happily mellow. I missed the young Nibscousin's kick-ass Torah interpretation while while giving the Wendling one of several breaks outdoors during the 90-minute service, so I asked him to e-mail it to me. No caviar this time - unlike the Beverly Hills bar mitzva of a few years ago - but the food was eminently satisfactory.

vorona: did we miss each other? If so, I'm sorry. I made it to the Baltic Room but later than I thought I would because I didn't realize there was no "E" in the street address. The interior of the Baltic Room is gorgeous with dark wood, and the raver music had me shaking my booty more than the last few months combined. That place needs more freaks, though. I didn't get any attitude, even in the jane, but the fashions were depressingly conformist. If I hadn't walked the extra 25 blocks and said yeaux to folks the inhibited vibe might have bummed me out. My good deed for the evening was to rescue the only raver-looking girl there with a safety pin. That's one girl thing I've learned; several thousand to go.
For those of y'all who live out of town, today's the pride parade and there was plenty of ancillary partying last night, including at least one closed street. Got called a diva by one of the many lesbians roaming the hill last night, which I chose to take as a compliment. There was a VW Golf full of yobbos who seemed to be occupied with pointing and whooping at every queer on the sidewalks, just in case we needed a reminder of why there needs to be a pride march even in Seattle.
