Jehovah's Witnesses don't vote.
a) That's a lowdown shame. I could have gone all day without learning that.
b) I'm proud to be an agent of karma for going to their house and annoying them.
My neighborhood is a lot weirder than I ever would have guessed. This makes me happy, mostly.
Doors knocked: about 180. Voters registered: 4. Le sigh.

Date: 2004-08-27 07:56 am (UTC)From:I always try to encourage these people, because I really appreciate what they're doing. I was crossing 5th Avenue down by the Westin Sunday morning and someone stopped me, asking if I was registered at my current address; I said I was, but please keep up the good work, etc.
So yeah, keep on keepin' on. :D
(And that is sad about the Jehovah's Witnesses . . . is it a "don't get involved in the world" sort of thing?)

Date: 2004-08-27 07:45 pm (UTC)From:Yeah. Now, thanks to you I am getting evil thoughts of coordinating people to go to JW's homes each week to register them to vote. We could send a different person each week.
But I would hate to bother the ones who don't bother us.
:)
