Wasabia japonica -- maybe my least characteristic impulse purchase to date, on Vashon
Eugenia garyophyllata -- cloves, whose oil is a noticeable ingredient in a hippy but surprisingly effective herbicide that I sprayed on...
Ranunculus repens --fucking creeping buttercup,
Taraxacum officinale --devil spawn dandelion, and
Arabidopsis thaliana -- those damn things with the tiny white flowers that shoot seeds in your eyes when you pull them, like something out of the old Star Trek

Date: 2005-05-08 03:58 pm (UTC)From:D'oh! I was with Her Nibs, the Wendling, and a couple of friends of ours who live in Seattle, one of whom is four years old. We just had a picnic at Ober Park and herded the kids out of the blackberries for an hour. There will be a next time, though.
I got the wasabi from a Japanese-looking guy at the farmers' market. I didn't get his name.
