So I went to another goth coffee, this time not looking like a butch slob, and had another good time. Meeting all those people is a little overwhelming, but hey, they tend not to be boring, and I probably need the practice anyway. They do, however, tend to be young: about a third of them are under 25. When talking to them, I sometimes find myself biting my tongue to keep from saying, "Been there, done that."
I feel like there's some kind of natural law at work here: conservation of transgendered people.
tiff_seattle leaves, I arrive.
I got minor flak from a crampy, cranky Nibbs for being social without her (I wasn't that late so she found something else to be cranky about). You know what? She's always been welcome to come along. No gotta sitter? We'll move it to a different day. I've gone along with her to "her" functions many times, and often paid a price in boredom or annoyance.
And another woo: I finally remembered after many weeks to bring the Barry's Gold Label tea (sent by my Irish connection). Good tea is good in oh so many ways.
