birthday outfit, part n+1
Nov. 30th, 2017 08:17 amI stayed home most of yesterday due to a cold, but with some misgivings I kept an appointment last night with Eyelashes hand her friend J* about the skirt for my birthday outfit. Did I mention that Eyelashes can't do it as originally promised? She has to move for the second time in as many months, apparently, and has lost her work space.
Fortunately, J is a theatrical costumer (!) and knows her stuff. Eight or so weeks should be plenty of time, J said, but the real trick will be finding or acquiring the right fabric. We did a little fabric shopping on Amazon, but when Eyelashes & I oohed & ahed at some dupioni, J said it wouldn't lay right. J says she'll spend a couple of weeks looking.
Eyelashes was wonderfully kind about my germs, giving me tea and honey, and insisting that I take herbal tea bags on my way out.
Oh, I've also ordered the last accessory. The birthday outfit is decided, and mostly acquired.
*Not to be confused with R's wife J, or my boss J. I may need to make up more names.
