sistawendy: a butterfly in the style of a street sign (butterfly)

My mom likes this picture, and I'm wearing the skirt she hates.

How could she hate that skirt? It's rocking!

Well, you have to remember that my mom is in her seventies. She's never lived among the bright lights of a big city, either.

My thoughts exactly!

That is an epic skirt.

Cool pic, but the banner makes me think you're directing people to the bathrooms.

Heh. You're not the only one to notice the similarity between our icons and bathroom signs. As for the one I'm carrying, I actually nagged our t-shirt designer into putting it on the shirts. I didn't know it was going to be on a banner until Sunday morning. Of course I had to have that banner, so I traded another one for it.

I've written here before about the frustrating lack of a good glyph for transness. My proposal is the simplified butterfly that I use.

And come to think of it, maybe the appearance of bathroom directions was our designer's idea of an in joke.

I think a butterfly glyph to represent trans folks is pretty genius, actually.

Aw. Thanks!

You can bet your last nickel that I'll be uploading this to various dating sites at the earliest opportunity.

I asked for and obtained permission from the photog, whose name I still don't know.

you know what my favorite thing is?

My all time favorite thing?

Every new picture of you becomes "the best picture ever taken" of you.
And I think that's just awesome.

Every day you become just a little more you. And every day that shows a little more on the outside.

So every new picture captures the real you just a little bit better.

I doubt she's even _seeing_ the skirt. You look great - proud, confident, and bold.
