First of all, many thanks to
shivacat, her beau (whose LJ username exists but is unknown to me),
thedivas, and
betanoir for showing up and saying hi. I think you guys made it a success.
Made what a success, you ask? I took Her Nibs to goth coffee with me femmed up (demurely so, per her request). We hung out, drank uncaffeinated beverages and talked with peeps about thangs. It was good, even if she was nervous about sitting in the window while I got the drinks. She actually said she'd do it again without my asking her.
Reason #573 why I love Seattle: I can wear a turtle neck and a corset in July without melting.
I find myself wondering, what's next? She doesn't like smoke or loud, stompy music, and she's pretty twitchy about alcohol. Those last two are way up on my list of favorite things, so much so that I'll tolerate the first. I'll just keep at it until I either draw her into my weird little world or I don't.
More good news: even as I type, Her Nibs is at the rheumatologist getting her meds rejiggered. The methotrexate was shredding her GI tract while the joint pain was increasing. We agreed that the state of things is, in her words, not good enough.
On an unrelated note, I'm two for two in doing stoopit things during Flexcar trips. I locked my keycard in one this morning, but thank Bob the Flexcar folks can unlock them remotely. I just had to haul booty four blocks to where my stuff was suddenly sitting in an unlocked car.
